JN Reddy

Mechanical – 1968

Distinguished Professor

Dr J.N reddy is the alumni from ou class of 1963-64 graduated in the year 1968.He is a distinguished professor. He is also the author of large number of journal papers and many books on energy principles, finite element method and its application and many more books. He is also internationally recognised for his research on mechanics of composite material. He developed many concepts which are used in commercial software like ABACAS, HYPERSA, NSO .He received many awards in the field of engineering.

In the words of Mr. D.Vijay Kumar (General secretary, OUCEAA), the core objective of alum talks is to inspire students mainly. To share the experience and passion of alums who are experts in their field of study who passed out from this college and thanked J.N Reddy for his presence

Dr.J.N.Reddy delivered his speech on the topic NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF ENGINEERING SCIENCE PROLEMS using the finite element method .He explained the importance of power of numerical simulations in today’s world he explained about the topic in detail and one of the point is everything under sun is numerically simulated and expressed his view that such power of numerical simulations should not be neglected in the development of today's world for human comfort and convenience.

He spoke about his book: Introduction to finite element which tells why we have to do and what we have to do in the future. He expressed that engineers are the most important part of the society independent of boundaries of the country and engineers do everything for the development of society and explained that they use mathematical equations that describe physics through education they can go into any field maths, physics which is not possible by anyone such as doctors which is possible through education in the technical courses.

The main contents of his lecture involved ENGINEERING AS A DISCIPLINE (nature of engineering)

He informed that engineers duty is to build system for human convenience, safety and comfort and said that engineers duty is to prolong life with comfort..

He spoke that medicine is based on case studies and an individual you should never take a failure as a permanent failure he/she should keep on trying and expressed his view that engineers help doctors in a more scientific way.

With the help of PowerPoint presentation .He explained the following topics. EFFORT OF ENGINEERS AND SCIENTISTS in various fields such as transportation, automobiles, Medicine, defence

He spoke about mathematical models and numerical methods that mathematical model is a set of algebraic differential and Integrational equations and told that numerical method can be solved for the dependable variables of interest.

He also explained about DEVELOPMENT IN NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS,A ROBUST SHEET FINITE ELEMENT,EE Approximations of displacement field, LEAST SQUARES BASED FINITE ELEMENT TECHNOLOGY FOR VISCIOUS FLUID FLOW,MODELLING OF BIOLOGICAL CELLS.

He explained about Cells which are fundamental units of any living organism that body replaces many cells and said a fact that the dust is the degeneration of skin. He spoke about Cell Structure.

He shared his experiences and the struggle He had gone through in the beginning of his career.

By the end of the day,DR.J.N.Reddy has enlightened the young minds of our students with the various opportunities they have, gave them a good view of how things work in the industry, and has helped them prepare for their careers in a more informed sense. He informed that there should be a tremendous change in the technical course and teaching in India.
